Intellectual Property The intellectual property in the materials contained in this website are owned by or licensed to Thrift Competitions and are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law. We grant our users permission to download one copy of the materials for personal, non-commercial transitory use.

Registration and Payments
-
- To participate in our competitions, you must create an account and provide accurate and up-to-date personal and payment information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity conducted under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, you must notify us immediately. Thrift Competitions is not liable for any loss or damage resulting from unauthorized account access due to your failure to maintain confidentiality.
- By entering our competitions, you agree to pay the specified entry fee using one of the accepted payment methods. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers, and we do not store or process your financial details. All transactions are subject to the respective payment provider’s terms and conditions. Fees for entry are non-refundable unless expressly stated otherwise. If a payment is reversed or fails for any reason, we reserve the right to cancel your entry.
- If applicable, customers are responsible for ensuring that any taxes, duties, or other charges associated with competition entries in their jurisdiction are settled. We are not responsible for any additional costs that may arise from participating in our competitions, including but not limited to customs fees for physical prizes.
Changes to Entry Fees Thrift Competitions reserves the right to modify entry fees for competitions at any time without prior notice. Any fee adjustments will apply only to future entries and will not affect participants who have already completed payment and secured an entry before the modification. In the event of an administrative error resulting in an incorrect entry fee being displayed or charged, the company may either honor the incorrect fee at its discretion or cancel the affected entries and provide a full refund to impacted participants. Any decisions regarding the modification of entry fees will be made transparently and in accordance with our commitment to fair competition practices.
Payment Processing and Security Payments for competition entries are processed securely through third-party payment providers, including PayPal, Stripe, and Apple Pay. Thrift Competitions does not store or process payment details directly and relies on these providers to handle transactions in accordance with their respective security protocols and terms of service. By completing a payment, participants agree to comply with the terms of the selected payment provider. In the event of a failed or disputed payment, the entry may be invalidated, and the participant may be required to provide an alternative payment method to reinstate their participation. Fraudulent payment disputes or chargebacks will result in the immediate suspension of the participant’s account, and the matter may be referred to the payment provider for further investigation. Thrift Competitions reserves the right to refuse or cancel any entry where payment has not been successfully processed. Participants experiencing payment-related issues should contact their payment provider before reaching out to our support team for resolution.
Cancellation and Consumer Rights By purchasing a competition entry, participants acknowledge and agree that they waive their statutory right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation, and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. As competition entries provide immediate access to a digital service, the right to a cooling-off period does not apply. Once an entry has been confirmed, it cannot be withdrawn or canceled, and refunds will not be issued except in cases where a technical error has prevented proper entry. Participants are responsible for ensuring they meet the eligibility criteria before completing a purchase. Any disputes regarding the cancellation of entries will be reviewed in accordance with the terms of this agreement and applicable consumer laws.
Refunds for Technical Errors If a technical issue prevents your competition entry from being processed correctly, you may request a refund within 7 days of purchase by contacting hello@thriftcompetitions.com. Refunds will only be granted if the issue was caused by a system error on our part and the entry was not completed.
Duties and Taxes If you win a physical prize through our competition, it may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or other fees imposed by the recipient’s jurisdiction. Thrift Competitions is not responsible for these charges. You are responsible for verifying any applicable taxes and ensuring compliance with local regulations before participating in our competitions. If you refuse to pay any applicable taxes or duties, resulting in the forfeiture of the prize by customs authorities, we bear no responsibility for such loss. Unclaimed prizes may be reassigned, canceled, or disposed of at our discretion.
Winner Tax Responsibilities Winners are solely responsible for reporting and paying any taxes, levies, or charges that may apply to their prize in their respective jurisdiction. The tax treatment of prizes may vary depending on local laws, and it is the responsibility of the winner to seek professional advice where necessary. Thrift Competitions does not provide tax guidance and will not be held responsible for any tax obligations associated with the receipt of a prize. If a winner is required by law to declare their winnings or pay tax on a prize, they must comply with all applicable regulations and ensure that any required declarations or payments are made in accordance with legal requirements. If a winner refuses to comply with tax obligations and such non-compliance results in a legal issue or prevents the lawful transfer of the prize, Thrift Competitions reserves the right to revoke the prize without providing any alternative compensation.
Prize Substitutions and Availability If a prize becomes unavailable due to circumstances beyond the control of Thrift Competitions, including supplier issues, stock shortages, or legal restrictions, we reserve the right to substitute the prize with an item of equal or greater value. Substitutions will be determined based on fair market value, and every effort will be made to ensure that the alternative prize is as close as possible in nature and quality to the original. If a suitable replacement is not available, Thrift Competitions may, at its discretion, offer the winner a cash alternative or store credit, where applicable. In cases where substitution is not possible and no alternative is offered, the affected winner will be given the option to either accept a delayed prize delivery or forfeit the prize without further compensation. Decisions regarding prize substitutions are final and will be made in accordance with our commitment to fairness and transparency in prize fulfilment.
Disputes Over Prize Delivery If a winner disputes the receipt of a prize, they must notify Thrift Competitions within 14 days of the expected delivery date. Any disputes submitted after this period will not be considered. In the event of a claim, Thrift Competitions will conduct an internal investigation, including verifying shipping records, tracking details, and any relevant communications. If the investigation confirms that the prize was delivered correctly to the winner’s provided details, no further action will be taken, and the dispute will be closed. If the investigation identifies an error in the delivery process caused by Thrift Competitions or its partners, reasonable efforts will be made to resolve the issue, which may include reshipping the prize or offering a suitable alternative. Thrift Competitions is not responsible for prizes lost due to incorrect delivery information provided by the winner, failure to collect the prize from a delivery service, or refusal to accept delivery.
User-Generated Content You retain your intellectual property ownership rights over content you submit to us for publication on our website. We will never claim ownership of your content, but we do require a licence from you in order to use it. When you use our website or its associated services to post, upload, share, or otherwise transmit content covered by intellectual property rights, you grant to us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable, worldwide licence to use, distribute, modify, run, copy, publicly display, translate, or otherwise create derivative works of your content in a manner that is consistent with your privacy preferences and our Privacy Policy. The licence you grant us can be terminated at any time by deleting your content or account. However, to the extent that we (or our partners) have used your content in connection with commercial or sponsored content, the licence will continue until the relevant commercial or post has been discontinued by us.
Your Data Protection Rights Under UK GDPR We take the privacy of our users seriously. Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), you have certain rights concerning how we process your personal data. These include:
- Right to Access – You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Correction – You have the right to request that inaccurate or incomplete data be corrected.
- Right to Erasure – In certain circumstances, you may request that we delete your personal data.
- Right to Restrict Processing – You can request that we limit how we use your data under specific conditions.
- Right to Object – You have the right to object to data processing where it is based on legitimate interest.
- Right to Data Portability – You can request a machine-readable copy of your personal data for transfer to another service.
For full details on how we handle personal data, please refer to our [Privacy Policy].
Winner Announcement Policy Winners may be publicly announced on our website or social media. By entering a competition, you consent to your first name and general location being shared.
Use of Winner’s Name, Image, and Testimonial By accepting a prize, winners may be required to participate in reasonable promotional activities related to the competition. This may include, but is not limited to, providing a testimonial, submitting photographs with their prize, or participating in a short interview. Such promotional activities help maintain transparency and trust in the competition process. Participation in these activities will be conducted in accordance with our Privacy Policy, ensuring that personal details are treated with care and in line with user preferences.
Prize Transferability
Prizes awarded in competitions are non-transferable and must be claimed by the named winner. If a winner is unable to claim their prize due to exceptional circumstances, they may request approval from Thrift Competitions to transfer the prize to a designated recipient. Such requests must be made in writing and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Approval of any transfer request is at the sole discretion of Thrift Competitions, and the company is under no obligation to grant such requests. Under no circumstances may competition entries be sold, traded, or transferred to another individual prior to the announcement of winners, and any attempt to do so may result in disqualification and forfeiture of the entry without refund.
Prize Claim Deadlines
Winners must claim their prizes within 30 days of receiving official notification, unless a different timeframe is specified in the competition rules. It is the responsibility of the winner to respond to the notification using the method provided, which may include email, phone, or an online claim form. If a winner does not claim their prize within the stated period, the prize may be forfeited, and Thrift Competitions reserves the right to either allocate it to an alternative winner, withdraw it from the competition, or use it in a future competition. If a prize requires the winner to provide additional details for delivery or identity verification, failure to submit the requested information within the required timeframe may also result in forfeiture. Thrift Competitions accepts no responsibility for winners who do not receive notifications due to incorrect contact details, spam filters, or other technical issues outside of our control.
Alternative Prize Arrangements
If a prize remains unclaimed after the designated claim period has expired, Thrift Competitions reserves the right to determine an alternative arrangement for the prize. This may include offering the prize to an alternative winner, reallocating it to a future competition, or withdrawing it from circulation. The decision regarding the alternative use of unclaimed prizes is at the sole discretion of Thrift Competitions, and no further claims or compensation will be entertained once a prize is deemed forfeited. Participants acknowledge that all competition outcomes are final, and any alternative prize arrangements will be executed in accordance with the company’s commitment to fairness and compliance with applicable regulations.
Right to Withhold Prizes
Thrift Competitions reserves the right to withhold a prize if the winner is found to have violated the competition rules, engaged in fraudulent behaviour, or provided false or misleading information at any stage of the competition. If an entrant is suspected of breaching the terms of service, their eligibility will be reviewed, and they may be required to provide additional verification before a prize is awarded. If any form of cheating, manipulation, or prohibited conduct is detected after a prize has been awarded, the winner may be required to return the prize or compensate Thrift Competitions for its equivalent value. Decisions regarding the withholding or revocation of prizes are final and will be made in the interest of fairness and integrity. Thrift Competitions is not liable for any costs, losses, or damages incurred by entrants as a result of the enforcement of this policy.
Liability
Our website and the materials on our website are provided on an 'as is' basis. To the extent permitted by law, Thrift Competitions makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property, or other violation of rights.
In no event shall Thrift Competitions or its suppliers be liable for any consequential loss suffered or incurred by you or any third party arising from the use or inability to use this website or the materials on this website, even if Thrift Competitions or an authorised representative has been notified, orally or in writing, of the possibility of such damage.
In the context of this agreement, "consequential loss" includes any consequential loss, indirect loss, real or anticipated loss of profit, loss of benefit, loss of revenue, loss of business, loss of goodwill, loss of opportunity, loss of savings, loss of reputation, loss of use and/or loss or corruption of data, whether under statute, contract, equity, tort (including negligence), indemnity or otherwise.
Because some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties, or limitations of liability for consequential or incidental damages, these limitations may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Thrift Competitions, its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses, including legal fees, arising from your use of our website, breach of these Terms of Service, or violation of any third-party rights.
We reserve the right to assume exclusive defence and control of any matter subject to indemnification, and you agree to cooperate in our defence. This indemnification obligation shall survive the termination of your use of our services.

The materials appearing on our website are not comprehensive and are for general information purposes only. Thrift Competitions does not warrant or make any representations concerning the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of the use of the materials on this website, or otherwise relating to such materials or on any resources linked to this website.
We strive to ensure that all information provided on our website, including competition details, prize descriptions, and entry requirements, is accurate and up to date. However, we do not warrant that the materials on our website are error-free or complete. Changes to competition formats, eligibility criteria, or prize specifications may be made without prior notice.
You acknowledge that reliance on any materials provided on our website is at your own risk. We reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions and to update information at any time without liability. We are not obligated to provide prior notice for modifications unless required by law.
Fair Play & Compliance with UK Competition Laws
We are committed to ensuring fair and transparent competition practices in compliance with UK advertising and prize competition laws. Our competitions are:
• Designed to involve skill, knowledge, or judgment, ensuring they do not qualify as illegal lotteries under UK law.
• Operated with clear eligibility criteria, published for all participants.
• Randomly drawn where applicable, with all winners verified to ensure fairness.
We adhere to the CAP Code (UK Advertising Standards for Competitions) and ensure all promotional materials and prize descriptions comply with ASA regulations.
Technical Disruptions During Winner Selection
In the event that a technical issue, system failure, or unforeseen disruption affects the live draw or automated winner selection process, Thrift Competitions reserves the right to pause, reschedule, or restart the process to ensure fairness and transparency. If such a disruption occurs, the company will investigate the cause and take appropriate measures to rectify any errors before proceeding with the draw. Affected participants will be notified of any changes via the company’s official website or direct communication channels. Thrift Competitions will not be held responsible for any perceived disadvantage caused by such technical disruptions but will ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to maintain the integrity of the competition.
Changes to Entry Fees
Thrift Competitions reserves the right to modify entry fees for competitions at any time without prior notice. Any fee adjustments will apply only to future entries and will not affect participants who have already completed payment and secured an entry before the modification. In the event of an administrative error resulting in an incorrect entry fee being displayed or charged, the company may either honour the incorrect fee at its discretion or cancel the affected entries and provide a full refund to impacted participants. Any decisions regarding the modification of entry fees will be made transparently and in accordance with our commitment to fair competition practices.
Responsible Participation
Thrift Competitions encourages responsible participation in all competitions and maintains a commitment to fair and ethical competition practices. Our services are intended for entertainment purposes only, and participants are encouraged to engage within their personal limits. If a participant feels that their level of engagement is becoming excessive or problematic, they are encouraged to seek professional support or contact relevant responsible gambling organisations for guidance. Participants who wish to self-exclude from future competitions may request a voluntary exclusion by contacting our support team, and such requests will be processed promptly. Thrift Competitions reserves the right to refuse participation to individuals who demonstrate patterns of excessive or irresponsible competition entry.
Amendments to Competition Rules
Thrift Competitions reserves the right to modify, amend, or clarify competition rules at any time in order to ensure compliance with legal requirements, maintain fair competition, or correct errors. Any changes that materially impact participants will be communicated through our website or direct notification where appropriate. Participants are responsible for reviewing the competition rules regularly to remain informed of any updates. In the event of a significant rule change after a competition has started, Thrift Competitions may, at its discretion, offer affected participants the opportunity to withdraw their entry or adjust their participation under the revised terms. Any amendments will take immediate effect unless stated otherwise, and continued participation in the competition constitutes acceptance of the updated rules.
Skill-Based Competitions Compliance
Our competitions are skill-based and do not operate as games of chance or lotteries. Each competition requires participants to demonstrate skill, knowledge, or judgment to be eligible for entry. The specific nature of the skill requirement will be outlined in the competition rules and may include answering a question, completing a task, or other forms of engagement that require participant input. Competitions that involve a random draw will only do so from a pool of correct or qualified entries that have met the skill-based requirement. By entering, participants acknowledge that they understand the nature of the competition and that failure to meet the skill requirement will result in disqualification without a refund. Thrift Competitions ensures that all competitions comply with UK laws governing prize promotions and skill-based contests.

• Attempts to manipulate competition outcomes in violation of fair play policies.
• Files unjustified chargebacks or disputes for valid competition entries.
If you believe your account was suspended unfairly, you may appeal within 7 days by contacting hello@thriftcompetitions.com.
Multiple Entries and Collusion Prevention
To ensure fairness and transparency, Thrift Competitions may impose limits on the number of entries permitted per person, household, or IP address in a given competition. Where entry limits apply, they will be clearly stated in the competition rules, and any attempt to exceed these limits by creating multiple accounts, using automated systems, or providing false details may result in disqualification and account suspension. Any form of collusion between participants with the intention of manipulating competition outcomes, including but not limited to sharing answers, coordinating ticket purchases, or influencing draw results, is strictly prohibited. Thrift Competitions reserves the right to conduct investigations into suspected collusion and take appropriate action, including but not limited to voiding entries, withholding prizes, or permanently banning users from future competitions.

• Government regulations or legal restrictions that impact competition operations.
• Cyberattacks, hacking incidents, or unexpected system failures.

If such an event occurs, we reserve the right to modify, delay, or cancel competitions. Where possible, affected users will be notified.

If any provision is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, the remainder of the Terms shall remain in effect.
